What products does Platte Valley Communications provide?Platte Valley Communications provide Two Way Radio Equipment, Emergency Center Consoles and 911 Answering Positions, Security & Access Control Systems, Dish Network Television Products, Cellular Communications products and a wide variety of other communications related electronic products. We are a source of technology for our customers and we provide a wide variety of services to support that technology.
Does Platte Valley have more than one location?Platte Valley Communications, Inc. has 3 locations: Grand Island, Central City, and York. There are also 4 other Platte Valley Communications: in Kearney, Lexington, Hastings and Holdrege, NE that have other owners.
Can Platte Valley Communications repair cellular telephones?Platte Valley Communications has full time technicians in Grand Island location, that can repair Motorola Phones uander warranty and do repairs within the limits allowed by other cellular telephone manufacturers. Many repairs can be handled at the local level within a short time.
Can the Platte Valley Cellular Department do everything the Verizon Retail Center can?With very few exceptions, the answer is YES. We can add new lines, do equipment upgrades, sell prepaid phones and lines, replenish prepaid minutes, access your account and help you handle insurance claims. One of the exceptions is we can not receive payments for your cellular service, only a retail store can do that.
Is Platte Valley Communications a part of Verizon?No, Platte Valley Communications is an Authorized Retailer for Verizon. We provide almost all the services that the Verizon Retail Centers do, but we are an independent company.
Why does Platte Valley Communications charge a fee for troubleshooting a cellular phone even if it is not repairable?We receive no monthly revenue from phone usage, no subsidy from the Cellular companies for repair, and no payments for technical work except from the customers we serve. Therefore in order to maintain our technical staff we must charge for any time they use in troubleshooting.
