Platte Valley Communications currently sells the RBH Integra32® access control system. These are two door systems and are capable of having up to 32 panels per system. Each panel can control two doors.
The RBH systems is a distributed system, meaning that once programmed, the access panels can operate independent of computer control or other control equipment. Each panel includes a 2 amp 12 volt power supply that can typically supply power for the panel and door locks. Battery backup can be included to allow the door to work during a power outage. In addition, serial to Ethernet converters can be sued to link off premise panels to the server machine.
The included software is client server based. Any machine can be set up as a server as long as it is always powered up. Clients can then attach to this computer through the network and program the system.
RBH brings additional features to the table that many competitors do not. One of the features of the panels is the ability to create links. You can link an input to an output. In additions, global links can be set up so an input on one panel can control an output on a different panel. Global links require that the server computer be connected and operating.
RBH systems are exceptionally secure as RBH has purchased the RBH 50 format. These cards transmit 50 bits of information to the system and can only be purchased from RBH. For those who already have cards, the RBH system supports many formats and can even support many formats simultaneously.
